Hey there!

Welcome

I’m Ashley and I’m here to help you travel like a local in the places I know best: Niagara, Ontario (where I grew up) and Edinburgh, Scotland (my second home).

What will you find here?

About the blog

After a decade of travel and a stint living abroad in Edinburgh, I’m back in the place I know best: Niagara, Ontario. I was born and raised here, and I know there’s so much to see and do beyond wineries and waterfalls.

Beaches, hiking trails, cafes, restaurants—whatever you’re looking for, I’ve got you covered with tips and ideas for your next Niagara trip.

And since I’m a local, it’s my goal to help you explore Niagara like I would. That means uncovering more than just the popular spots and touristy attractions.

Niagara-on-the-lake

Looking for the best attractions in Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Old Town? Want the low-down on must-visit winery restaurants?

Check out my NOTL articles for the top things to see, do, and eat in Canada’s prettiest town.

Fun fact: I worked the town’s tourism information centre for five years back in the day, so you’re in good hands with my recommendations!

St. Catharines

According to Airbnb search data, St. Catharines is one of the top trending domestic destinations for Canadians in 2025.

Honestly, it took several years of me living in St. Catharines to realize how underrated this city is.

There are fantastic beaches, hiking trails, a handful of wineries, and the best restaurant scene in Niagara (in my opinion, at least).

Plus, it’s the perfect base if you want to spend a few days exploring places like Port Dalhousie, NOTL, and the Niagara Benchlands.
